In addition to the attractions Gibraltar has to offer, it is also the perfect base from which to explore nearby Spain and Morocco.

Estepona's fascinating Sunday morning market is a popular trip. Options include, Jerez on a sherry-tasting excursion, or Ronda; the beautiful old town perched on a plateau in Spain's mountains. Take a trip to ancient Seville or drive to Marbella and enjoy the famous marina of Puerto Banus. The Spanish port of Algeciras is about 12km by road to the west of Gibraltar. It has a rail terminal and regular trains run into the beautiful Andalucian countryside giving access to Ronda, Cordoba and Madrid.

Alternatively, a short ferry crossing will take you to Morocco where you can buy spices and haggle over bargains in the souk. All this adds up to making Gibraltar an even more attractive destination.
