Gibraltar Tourist Board at Marrakech WTCC race

The Gibraltar Tourist Board will once again host a promotional stand in the FIA World
Touring Car Championship that takes place in the Moroccan city of Marrakech
between 11th-13th April.
This event will provide the GTB with the opportunity to showcase the local tourist
product and general services to the international annual gathering of WTCC motoring
fans that will be attending the prestigious event in Morocco.
Minister for Tourism, Commercial Affairs, Public Transport and the Port, Neil Costa
MP who will be leading the local delegation, said he was delighted that the GTB was
taking part to promote the Gibraltar tourist industry and the Rock’s unique appeal as
a city break destination. Mr Costa further noted that the presence of the GTB will
serve to highlight the Gibraltar Government’s stated desire to develop modern
tourism, trade and commerce links with Morocco.
“We continue to tirelessly promote Gibraltar at every international event that we
attend, especially one so close to home and one which has become a regular fixture
of global sporting media coverage and interest,” said Mr Costa.
Last year Chief Minister Fabian Picardo who was one of the guests at the race,
declared that events such as these were excellent opportunities to promote what
Gibraltar has to offer in Morocco.
