The next in the Gibraltar Museum’s lecture series held in collaboration with the Gorham’s Cave Complex and the Gibraltar Scientific Society, will be held this Thursday 4th May at 7pm at the Charles Hunt Room, John Mackintosh Hall.

The Hon. Dr John Cortes will be talking on the subject of ‘Saving Nature’. Despite its small size, Gibraltar is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna with over 40% of its land designated as a nature reserve. However, Gibraltar is also one of the most densely populated countries in the World and this presents its challenges when it comes to the conservation of habitats and species.

Dr Cortes will share his personal experiences facing these challenges, having worked with Gibral-tar’s ecology for years, as well as the ecological success stories that have come from it.

The lecture is open to the public and is free of charge.
