World Cup representative Parody, 32, reached the quarter-finals of last year's PDC European Tour event in Gibraltar during a memorable run which was only ended by eventual champion Michael van Gerwen with a narrow 6-5 loss.

Parody won through Thursday night's Host Nation Qualifier to secure his spot in this weekend's £135,000 tournament, and will now take on Sweden's Magnus Caris in Friday's first round.

Parody's partner in next month's Betway World Cup of Darts, Dylan Duo, also qualified and will now take on James Wilson as he competes in the European Tour event for the third time.

Anthony Lopez qualified for a fourth successive year and will now take on Belgium's Dimitri Van den Bergh, while Manuel Vilerio competes in the event for the fourth time as he faces Darren Johnson.

Justin Broton was the night's other Host Nation Qualifier as he secured a European Tour debut against Matt Clark on Friday.
